Chickpea Fatteh

Ingredients:

  • Pita Bread (100g)

  • Boiled Chickpeas (1/2 cup)

  • Yogurt (1/4 cup)

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil (1 tbsp)

  • Pine Nuts (1 tbsp)

  • Tahini Sauce (1 tbsp)

 

Ingredients:

  • Lemon (1)

  • Saffron Powder (1 tsp)

    • or paprika

  • Chives (1 tsp)

 

Instructions:

  • Heat the boiled chickpeas on the stove’s High heat setting for 2 minutes.

  • Pour into a bowl.

 

Instructions:

  • Cut the pita bread into small square slices.

  • Place it on top of the chickpeas.

  • Mix it slightly.

 

Instructions:

  • Mix the tahini sauce, yogurt, lemon juice, and salt to create a sauce.

  • Pour the sauce on top of the sliced pita bread and chickpeas base.

 

Instructions:

  • Pour olive oil onto a skillet.

  • Roast the pine nuts until golden on the stove’s High heat setting for 1 minute.

 

Instructions:

  • Drizzle olive oil and the roasted pine nuts on top of the yogurt sauce.

  • Sprinkle with saffron powder and chives.

 

Chickpea Fatteh completed!

Ready to be served – it’s good to be eaten immediately. Don’t store leftovers, it will get soggy.
